Your detergent uses enzymes, doesn't that damage the fabric?
Not Defunkify! The source of the enzymes matter tremendously and we exclusively use only the highest quality. Enzymes and odors are like keys and locks. You need the right enzyme to unlock (break apart) all the different odor molecules that are stuck in your clothing. After the molecules are broken apart, the surfactants in our detergent wash the odor molecules away.
What is the difference between your powder and liquid detergents?
Both powder and liquid formulations contain a comprehensive enzyme system for effective odor and stain removal. The primary differences relate to additional functional components and application flexibility.
The powder formulation includes a color-safe oxygen-based bleach alternative, making it particularly effective for maintaining brightness in white fabrics. Powder detergents are also generally advantageous for removing particulate soils such as dirt, grass, and other organic matter.

"After a long time in 2024-2025 they finally had their new scent. When I went to reorder after 1 year the site said sold out. I was not able to send an inquiry via the website because it kept looping. I am so disappointed since I have been using this detergent for awhile and they keep discontinuing scents or taking ungodly amounts of time to produce the good ones. I figure I am only going to get a response if I give them a bad review"

"I cannot even communicate how happy I am I found Defunkify a couple years ago. I have MCS along with a keen sense of smell and I perspire (we all do) in the crazy Texas heat! I dreaded doing laundry as I just could not find products that didn’t irritate my skin, make me sick from the smell, were nontoxic, safe on more delicate fabrics, actually cleaned well and controlled odor. Enter Defunkify…I use for all my laundry needs now, even pets. I use the liquid detergent for clothing, powder for linens/bedding (it’s a little cheaper per load) and the stain remover as a pre-treat odor remover on clothing under arms (and of course, stains). I am on a “limited budget” and find if I buy in bulk and/or on sale, I spend about the same on as I did before on conventional brands as I use less half the product. I have meant to write this review awhile now as I am so passionate about products that meet my specific needs and standards. More than anything, I just want to share my experience with those who may have some of the issues I have. . TRULY SO GRATEFUL FOR THIS COMPANY!"
